CalliopeWriter began with a practical question: what would an AI-assisted writing environment look like if it started with local ownership, revision history, and writer review as foundational constraints?

CalliopeWriter answers that question with a focused macOS writing environment where ChatGPT Codex or Claude Code can revise selected text, scenes, chapters, or larger sections while the writer retains the manuscript, the context, and the decision.

Why “CalliopeWriter”?

In Greek tradition, CalliopeWriter is the muse of epic poetry. The name is a reminder that writing tools should serve work with length, structure, memory, and consequence, not just generate the next sentence.
